Ernst is the principal investigator on the National Science Foundation proposal that helped CWRU¹s Center for Surface Analysis (CSAM) acquire a new 300,000-volt transmission electron microscope. The new microscope, unveiled at CSAM¹s open house last week, is one of eight analytical instruments that constitute a comprehensive array of nondestructive compositional and structural tools for surface and bulk analysis of metals, alloys, ceramics, semiconductors, polymers and composites. The instruments are used by a range of CWRU academic researchers. Return to the online edition of the 2-21 Campus News. |
